Why spent the holiday on Lombok Island ?
Many people ask about the holiday in Lombok island. Lombok known as West Nusa Tenggara is part of the island chain originally called the lesser Sunda Island, and refers to the island directly to the east of Bali. Located slightly south of the equator, NTB is comprised of two main islands: Lombok and Sumbawa, as well as hundreds of smaller islands and coral atolls in the surrounding waters. The NTB region offers a fascinating variety of landscapes, places of interest and various activities for the tourist. Tropical islands and coastlines lined with pristine beaches, fabulous waters for Diving, swimming, sunbathing, sailing, surfing, fishing and underwater activities await traveller to the area.

The most famous of these, the "Gili Island" are three small island off the northwest coast, which attract thousands of tourists annually to their idyllic shores. Equally beatiful islands lie off southwest, south and northeast coast and as yet are undeveloped, but are delightful for day-trips and underwater tours. |
Trekking to Mount Rinjani
Most of the Lombok visitor interest for trekking to the highest mountain on Lombok that called Mount Rinjani. Mt Rinjani is Lombok's famous, soar 3726 m above sea level and is the second highest volcano in indonesia, attracting thousand of trekkers and climbers annualy. The huge crater near the top contain the beautiful lake, Danau Segara Anak(child of the sea lake) and a smaller volcanic cone, Gunung Baru Jari, which was formed a couple of hundred years ago.
There are a number of caves, small waterfalls and hot springs located around the volcano. In 2004 Rinjani won the world legacy award and the volcano is recognised internationally as an important eco-tourism destination. Spent your time two, three and four day to do trekking to mount Rinjani. |
