Three Small Island In Lombok Called Gili
Holiday to Lombok island is not complete without visiting three small island Lombok has many Gili, off the north-west coast of Lombok are three small, coral-fringed island, Gili Air, Gili Menu and Gili Trawangan-each with superb, white sandy beaches, clear water, coral reefs, brilliantly colored fish and the best snorkeling on Lombok. The Island has become popular with visitors, especially young Europeans, who come for the very simple pleasure of sun, snorkeling and socializing. At the south, Lombok has Gili Nanggu, Sudak, Kedis and many others. Gili on the south are like Private Island, which not many tourists inside. The south Gili also offer the best place to snorkeling with the friendly fish and colourfully coral reefs.
The Gilis have sparse vegetation and rainfall, and it can seem much hotter than on the mainland. This means there is sunshine most days of the year, even when it's raining in lombok and bali. Water is mainly drawn from wells or shipped from the maindland, so there is a need for conservation to preserve the limited resources. Be prepared for salty showers in most of the small hotels and home-stays, although the larger hotels and villas provide fresh water.
There are no cars or motorbikes on the Gili, and the main form of transport,apart from walking, is by horse and cart (locally called cidomo). There is a good restaurants, bars and accomodation on all Gili, with the biggest range on Gili Trawangan.Telephone and internet facilities are available, and most of the normal tourist amenities, although there are no banks and only the larger hotels accept credit cards. Moneychangers excange at a slightly lower rate than the main laind, so it's wise to change your money befor going.

Gili Air
Gili Air is closet to the mainland and the most quickly accessed of the three Gilis. This island has the largest local population of the three and combines the charm of Tropical Island, with access to the people and culture that make Lombok so special. Diving facilities abound and there is nice snorkeling directly from the shore, particularly from the east and northeast beaches. The south of the island has some good surf, in the right condition.
Gili Meno
Gili Meno is the middle and smallest island of the three, with the lowest population. It is not as developed as Trawangan and Gili Air, but has its own special tranquil style. Small hotels and basic beachside huts provide accommodation for those seeking a peaceful place in the sun, with unpopulated beaches, clear water and quiet walks under the star-filled skies at night
Gili Trawangan
Gili Trawangan is the largest island and furthest from mainland, but easily reached in less than an hour by local boat or around 10 minutes by speedboat. This is the most famous of the three Gilis and the most developed, with a wide range of accommodation, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. The beaches are clean and perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Snorkeling is extremely easy just off the shore and there is an abundant of tropical fish species to enjoy. The island is famed for its vast gardens of coral and is one of the best dive spots in Lombok.
